Technical Support Assistant
£30,000 - £35,000 basic + benefits
Our client is an expanding, well-established manufacturer of design led innovative products and this new role is working closely with the Technical Manager supporting the salesteam in their efforts and acting as a key contact to customers and end users for product/ technical issues.
You will be involved in resolving technical issues; speaking with customer and end users about products and applications; looking at special design requests, and be able to advise sales on suitability and give application advice; speak to customers regarding these special design requests, assess the application, what is needed and come up with a solution and then liaise with sales on next actions; technical back up to sales which can include wiring/driver issues, dimming, set out advice, problem solving and suggesting most suitable products to use; assess driver suitability and specify alternatives where necessary/possible; when necessary speak to electricians, customers, or end users to diagnose and advise on wiring issues. Organise LED driver and controller testing, for new parts and existing to test compatibility with other manufacturers; product mock-up and application testing for customers/sales team; support to technical manager on product launch, certification, excel sales costings sheets for sales; data sheet proof reading
The ideal candidate should be confident handling telephone and email enquiries requiring technical information or solutions on lighting details, products, LED drivers, and installation issues. You should be responsible / reliable / self-motivated and Inquisitive with a “can-do” attitude, willing to find information out for yourself!. You should be an enthusiastic project manager, efficient, clear thinking organiser with excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills. Although full training and support will be given the ideal candidate should have 18 months + experience within a manufacturer supporting a salesteam from electrical, electronics, lighting sector or a technology based role. You should have excellent technical understanding, able to converse in a clear, concise and professional manner to colleagues and by mail/ telephone to customers.
