Technical Manager (Snr Product Designer) - Hybrid

£38,000 - £40,000 basic + bonus + benefits

The Technical Manager will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance, conducting research and development, and project management. The Technical Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the design process from conception to completion, ensuring that the products meet the highest quality standard and ensuring that areas of responsibility are carried out quickly and efficiently

Your responsibilities include: following the NPD process and ensure design projects are delivered on time, liaising with the Production team to ensure NPD is Designed For Manufacture, assess incoming technical enquires from direct communication or the sales team, manage the product testing process (internal / external), keep the Technical Files and compliance for products updated, manage the lighting design requirements (internal / external), manage the product design team (internal / external), support the manufacturing team with technical queries, support the marketing team with technical information and keeping files up to date for website

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills both orally and written, have the ability to understand and create 3D CAD drawings (Solidworks experience preferred.), an understanding of Lighting Design, Relux experience preferred, BSc/BEng degree related to Product Design / Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, previous experience in a similar role is preferable, a minimum of 5 years lighting industry experience.
